Punidha Sokkalingam

PhD, Indian Institute of Technology, 2007

Punidha received her PhD in Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India, in 2007, where she got an opportunity to be involved in various synthetic aspects of porphyrin chemistry. She then carried out postdoctoral research in Professor Thayumanavan’s group at University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where she was involved in executing disassembly of dendritic supramolecular assemblies using an enzymatic trigger. After completing her second postdoctoral research work on calix[4]pyrrole and its anion recognition chemistry with Professor Chang-Hee, Lee at Kangwon National University, South Korea,  she joined the research group of Professor Bruce C. Gibb at Tulane University in May 2013. At Tulane, her research is focused on synthesis of new cavitand hosts and their utilization to investigate the Hofmeister effect.
