Matthew Hillyer

Matthew hails from the University of Michigan, where he received his B.S. in Chemistry with minors in Native American Studies and Global Change. Matthew began his doctoral work at Tulane University in Fall 2012 where he is attending as a graduate fellow. He joined the Gibb Group in winter 2012, where he will split his time between computational studies, analysis and synthesis of water soluble hosts. Building from his interests in undergrad, Matthew has joined the Gibb Group with the intent of utilizing physical and computational techniques combined with organic synthesis.

Being from the far north Matthew has become very fond of the warm weather and the scarcity of snow in New Orleans. He likes staying active as well as enjoying a nice book poolside. Matthew looks forward to exploring more of what the region has to offer as well as becoming reactive with ornithology. CaCaw!
